New year, new home?
Happy new year! We hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable break and were able to start 2021 with renewed energy and optimism.
2020 was one of the most tumultuous years that most of us have ever experienced, and while the dawning of a new year doesn’t magically fix the world’s problems, it does represent a fresh start. It’s an opportunity to determine your priorities and work towards achieving them.

– Every house in this region has sold or rented for more than you would probably expect over the previous 12 months. Rather than creating a property depression, COVID-19 actually created a property boom in this area. This is primarily because more people are becoming remote workers, and those remote workers are moving away from the cities during the pandemic. This results in higher competition for both sales and rentals, and in turn, prices are pushed up.
– Furthermore, there is a severe shortage of rentals available. With the influx of sea changers flocking to the area, the rental vacancy rate is now down to around 0.5%, from 1.3% in January last year. This means it is an ideal time to rent your property, with many high quality tenants looking for long-term accommodation. Most are willing to pay many months in advance to secure the rental.
– It is quite a trend every year that after people come here to holiday, they fall in love and start considering a move here. We have lots of people pop into our office at the Casuarina Town Centre to see the available sales and rentals. This means we have a good solid database of buyers. By putting your property in front of them now, an excellent result can be achieved.
